The Sisters of Notre Dame are committed to Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) as a Way of Life. However, life can sometimes feel overwhelming and we can quickly feel “on overload” in regard to the pressing issues of our day. In an attempt to help the SND community stay on top of what is happening in the United States and to become actively involved in advocating for peace and justice, the USA Sisters of Notre Dame are providing a handy and reliable tool – VOTER VOICE - to stay aware of major issues and make our voices heard.

In preparation for SND-USA coming together as one province in July 2020, current leadership asked a group of sisters to design a formal plan for work in the areas of Justice, Peace, and the Integrity of Creation (JPIC). The three dimensions of JPIC outreach, or Ministry on the Margins, are education, advocacy, and direct service. The JPIC group's plan included purchasing a program, Voter Voice, which will make education and advocacy easier for sisters, associates, and other SND collaborators.

Voter Voice is an email-based advocacy program that informs users of JPIC issues and related legislation nationwide.  The Sisters of Notre Dame National JPIC Office will monitor the system and send alerts to sisters, associates, and collaborators when legislative advocacy is needed.

All legislative action will be up to the individual who receives it. After reading the alert, the SND user will decide if they wish to participate and then take action or not.

According to Sister Mary Kathleen Ryan of the SND National JPIC Office, "This is one way we can make a national impact by working together."
