The truck at the Uganda Mission is on its last leg. We hope to help our sisters in Uganda buy a new 4x4 that can navigate the dirt roads of Buseesa.

We hope you will consider partnering in support of this!

Donate by mail at: Sisters of Notre Dame Uganda Mission, 1601 Dixie Highway, Covington, KY 41011.
Please make checks payable to "Sisters of Notre Dame" and indicate "Uganda Truck" in the memo.

What is wrong with the current truck?

The current truck is in frequent need of repair and is unreliable.

Sisters are frightened to take large groups of students in the truck. The truck's differential broke on a recent trip with the netball team. They were stranded four hours away from the mission.

Are the roads really so bad?

From Kampala (the capital) to Buseesa, 1/3 of the trip is on tarmac. The rest is on dirt roads that vary in width and roughness. See the roads at:

What is the truck used for?

Transporting large groups of students in the bed of the truck to music and athletic competitions.

Hauling animal feed and firewood.

Traveling to Kampala (4-5 hours away) for rice and other staples.

Which truck do we hope to buy?

Toyota Landcruiser 79 Series.
It will cost approximately $80,000. We have secured $20,000 so far.

***No matter the vehicle, we ask that you please pray for our sisters' and students' safe travel in Uganda. Webale muno! Thank you very much!***
