Sr. Mary Evangelita Spechtold 1917-2014

Sr. Mary Evangelita Spechtold, born February 27, 1917 in Cincinnati, OH, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Heights on June 30, 2014. Sr. Mary Evangelita was the fifth of six children in her family and attended St. George Elementary School and St. Agnes School (Bond Hill, OH), where she became acquainted with the Sisters of Notre Dame. After graduating from Regina High School, she joined the Sisters of Notre Dame and made her profession of vows on August 17, 1940. Sister Mary Evangelita was a teacher and was principal in several elementary schools in Ohio and Kentucky. Her longest place of ministry was at St. Martin School (Cheviot, OH) for fifteen years. She also carried out the roles of high school guidance counselor, as well as retirement coordinator, and provincial assistant for the Sisters of Notre Dame. Sister is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: George, Emmet, James, and Clarence, and her sister, Marie Boyce. 

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I remember her when I attended St Agnes back in the mid 70's. Very sweet lady
