Sr. Maria Francine Stacy, Presidents' Award Recipient

Congratulations to Sr. Maria Francine Stacy! Sr. Maria Francine was awarded the Dayton Hispanic Chamber Presidents' Award at the December 5 Fiesta 2014 celebration.

According to the Dayton Hispanic Chamber website, "This award is presented at the discretion of the President. The recipient should, in the opinion of the current President of the Hispanic Chamber, be a role model of success who clearly and selflessly embraces the Hispanic/Latino culture."

Sr. Maria Francine, director of Hispanic Catholic Ministry in Dayton, OH, ministers daily in support of the Hispanic population. Her work includes preparing people of all ages for the sacraments, teaching English as a second language, and serving as a liaison between community and government agencies and our Hispanic brothers and sisters.

After receiving the Presidents' Award, Sr. Maria Francine said, "I was moved not just by the award that came from the Hispanic Chamber, which represents the professional Hispanic segment of Dayton, but also by the standing ovation of those with whom I have worked. That we all worked together, and enjoyed it and appreciated each other as we tried to better others' lives impacted me. It was the real meaning behind that piece of engraved glass!"
