Collecting rain water at a house in Buseesa.

Srs. Mary Janet Stamm and Mary Delrita Glaser received news from Sisters in Uganda that the rain has finally arrived in Buseesa. The spring rainy season typically begins in late February or early March. Instead of showers, however, a heat wave hit Buseesa in February. The unseasonably warm weather and lack of precipitation lowered the mission's rain barrels. Students and teachers had to fetch water from the nearby water hole for the last several weeks.

Now that the rain has arrived, the barrels are filling up and the Sisters and farmworkers can finally begin the spring planting. It is critical to start the planting process as soon as possible, as the fresh crops are used in the children's meals at the schools.

We praise Jesus and thank everyone who has prayed for the mission..and for rain.
