Sr. Marla Monahan (pictured top, center) checked in from the General Chapter in Coesfeld, Germany on October 10, 2016.

She wrote:

"To my right is Sr. Mary Klaudia from Indonesia, a translator. To my left is Sr. Mary Lillian from Papua New Guinea, a chapter delegate. Today we visited 100-year-old Sr. Mary Anselma in Vechta, Germany (pictured bottom, center).

Sr. Mary Anselma was on the island of Wangerooge during the Second World War serving as a nurse. The island was bombed several times and she single-handedly buried several people who died, including SNDs. There was no doctor on the island, so she also performed life-saving surgeries. It was such an honor to meet this serene, unassuming sister who now has no memory of the war."

God's blessing removed that memory. You are in a holy presence. God bless all of you.
