Three years ago, NDA graduate Erin Cummings, now an engineer herself, connected the SND community with Engineers Without Borders (EWB) as a possible support at the Uganda mission for water and fuel needs. EWB developed a proposal that was accepted by the National Chapter promising five years of engineering expertise to the project.

Their first trip was made in the summer of 2013. At that time six engineers came and laid the groundwork for the project. They returned to the U.S. with the challenge to discover the best strategies and resources possible for installing bio-gas and securing safe water. Now four engineers are there to take the next steps by talking with contractors and villagers about the best ways to move the projects forward.  The Sisters of Notre Dame are very grateful for these generous friends and supporters who give their time and talent for the Uganda Mission
