The Sisters of Notre Dame of the United States are deeply disturbed by the violence we see around us. Since Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012 there have been many more school shootings with six shootings so far in 2018. We pray for those who grieve and for those who have fallen. We acknowledge that our prayer is not enough.

History of St. Joseph Heights: Heck Farm

When Theodore Heck sold his farm to the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1912 (plus two additional acres in 1914), the Sisters’ property extended to approximately 54 acres. Twenty-two thousand dollars was the total price of the Heck Farm.

We are happy to announce that Sr. Reinette Kroeger and Sr. Lynette Shelton are the 2018 recipients of the William Cooper Faith and Community In Action Award. This prestigious award was established in 2009 in honor of the Reverend William Jefferson Cooper, Sr., of Westport, Kentucky. Mr. Cooper, a man of faith and vision, founded the Kentucky Governor's Prayer Breakfast.
