Three of the North American provinces of the Sisters of Notre Dame (Toledo, Chardon and Covington) have committed to an international mission project.

What do we do?

Collect used shoes, purses, duffel bags, swag bagsand backpacks. (No wheels on bags and no luggage, please.)

These items will be sent to developing countries where the material will be used by the people to make items that they can sell for profit. This will help people support themselves and be independent, as well as keep these items out of our landfills.

Even more help:

Our goal is to collect at least 5,000 pairs of shoes.  If we do, we’ll be able to support the Covington Province’s water project in Uganda.  The Care2Give Foundation has accepted our request to use what we earn to build a water purification system in the village of Buseesa through our partnership with Engineers Without Borders.

Here’s how you can help:

Until October 15, bring all shoes, purses, duffel bags, swag bags, and backpacks that you would like to donate to St. Joseph Heights, 1601 Dixie Highway, Covington, KY 41011. To schedule a drop-off time or if you have any questions, please contact Sr. Mary Rita Geoppinger at 859-392-8199.

Thank you!
