Notre Dame Sisters Ruth Lubbers and Kate Hine arranged a spring break service trip with students from the University of Akron. Their spring break destination? Covington, Kentucky.

In between their service hours, we sat down with some of the students to ask what the trip has meant to them.

The students, who are members of the RooCatholic Young Adult Group at the University of Akron, served at the following Greater Cincinnati sites:

-Respite Care for the Homeless
-St. Leo the Great Food Pantry
-Mary Magdalen House
-Notre Dame Urban Education Center
-St. Francis - St. Joseph Catholic Worker House
-Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky (HONK)
-Fairhaven Rescue Mission
-Be Concerned

They lodged at the Covington Provincial House for the duration of the trip, which allowed them time to meet Covington Sisters of Notre Dame one-on-one and learn more about the Notre Dame charism and ministries.

Their presence, gratitude, service, and energy brought joy to our hearts. Thank you, RooCatholic Students!
